Chef Laurent Couvreur has major credentials under his belt – studying and working with world-renowned Chef Jacques Chibois at the famous Le Royal Gray Restaurant in Cannes. After several years gaining experience at Michelin starred eateries along the Cote d’Azur in the South of France, he moved to the USA where he was well reviewed as Head Chef at Chez Jacqueline in New York and featured on US Cable TV’s The Food Channel. Returning to Europe Laurent spent 6 years as Head Chef at the Ritz Club in London before relocating to Bath where he worked at Le Beaujolais and The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe. His dream of owning his own restaurant was realised in 2006 when he opened Casanis with his wife Jill, where for 10 successful years he recreated and reinvented dishes from his childhood and early experiences in the South of France.
Laurent recently private cheffed on board “Northabout” in the Arctic for Adventurer David Hempleman-Adams as part of the Polar Ocean Challenge.
Using the incredible local produce available in the South West, Laurent has been lauded with a handful of awards including Best Restaurant at the Bath Good Food Awards, recommendations in The Michelin Guide, Hardens and The Good Food Guide and glowing reviews in The Telegraph and by AA Gill in The Sunday Times.
